If you are looking to lose weight, tone up and have a
leaner look, cardio is a big part of getting there. You will not only
receive a cardiovascular routine, homework to do on your own, but your
workout will also involve short intervals of high intensity cardio
training. These intervals will be anywhere from two minutes to four
minutes and will be done on a cardio machine or by jumping rope,
boxing, hill climbers etc. The point of these intervals in to increase
your heart rate during your workouts and bringing back down several
times in one hour to burn extra calories and condition your heart and
lungs to achieve a higher endurance level making your body’s metabolism
respond for a longer period of time even when you are not working out.
What type of cardio intervals you will have in your program will be
based on your fitness assessment and health questionnaire. Everyone
starts out at their own level of fitness and builds up from that point.
